A string-art portrait up close — thousands of threads crossing between the nails
A small workshop in Tbilisi

About the maker

There is no ink in these panels. The image is made of thread alone — over a kilometre and a half of it, crossing itself more than four and a half thousand times between 240 nails. Where the lines crowd together it goes dark; where they thin out, it lightens.

So it behaves like an object, not a picture of one. It catches the light and changes as you walk past: a face from across the room, thousands of straight lines up close. 50×50 cm, ready to hang — and made from your own photograph, which means there is exactly one of it in the world.

What customers say

I ordered a portrait for my mother and she cried. Better in person than in the photos.

Fast, precise, with photos of the process along the way. I have ordered twice now.

Bought a map as a leaving gift. Packed perfectly and up on the wall the same day.
